Ran five very relaxed miles.  I had a terrible weekend in regards to sleep, and I was really feeling it by Monday.  I'm also working through a sore throat and headache.  So, today's run was easy - I'll see if I feel up to running harder tomorrow.

I'm still trying to figure out how sick I am.  Sore throat and general fatigue, but the symptoms haven't gotten any worse.  I rested yesterday which may have helped my energy level today.

My intention was five easy miles, but once I got outside (Kuhni's road) I didn't want to lounge.  The weather was awesome and I felt much better than I expected after the first mile.  After the one mile warmup I decided to do 5 miles at an 8:15 pace followed by a 1 mile cooldown.  Splits were: 8:35, 8:01, 8:06, 8:10, 8:05, 8:00, 8:36.  Total time was 57:33, which is an 8:13 average.  The near-perfect symmetry of the times is funny since it was unintentional.

I'm not really sure what pace to call "fast" or "slow".  For now, I'll assume a 50 minute 10k time (8:02 avg pace) for the Spectrum 10k in March.  Given today's run, I'm probably faster than that, but it will be nice to exceed my goal rather than miss it.  Tempo pace for an 8:00 race pace is an 8:15-8:20.  So, my cutoff for "fast" will be 8:15.  Anything slower than that will be slow.

I'll change my definitions based on results from the Spectrum 10k.
